About the Designer
K. A. Mace launched her jewelry design company
after several years of enjoying a very successful retail management
career. Over the last couple of years, she realized she could
only fulfill her creative desire
by starting her own company. In this way, she would focus on the elements of jewelry that she enjoyed the very
most: craftsmanship; the use of organic, natural elements; and
color.
Kelly is a graduate of Carleton College, and
earned her degree in Latin American Studies. While earning
this degree, she spent a great deal of time studying and traveling
in Mexico, Central America and South America. During this
time, she began to focus her sights on the jewelry of
the indigenous peoples of these countries.
Kelly would spend hours admiring jewelry in museums
and realized a common thread: when high quality craftsmanship (like
hand-knotting strands of stones) is used on beautifully organic
elements the pieces withstand the test of time. Some of the
pieces were hundreds of years old, but were made with such care and
quality that these pieces could still be worn today!
When starting her company, Kelly knew that she
too would take this same care and craftsmanship with her
pieces. Her focus on handmade makes each piece a work of art
and a piece of jewelry which she hopes will be enjoyed over years
and years to come. She sources high quality elements from
around the globe that will reflect this commitment to
excellence.
Furthermore, on the business side,
Kelly keenly understands how to combine her creative talents
with her extensive retail background. This combination
is a perfect fit for everyone! She is very focused and
understands extremely well customer service and how to
create a lasting customer relationship. Customers
often send Kelly pictures of the jewelry on the lucky
recipients from many special occasions including weddings,
engagement parties, birthdays, anniversaries and
graduations. She also understands the business from a
retailer's perspective and is an ideal retail partner.
She has also assisted retailers with setting up displays,
inventories, trunk shows, custom orders and much more to
drive sales, create a lasting impression for the retailers'
customers, and ultimately enhance the retail partnership.
Lastly, working from home allows her
to focus on her greatest joy of all: her family!
Kelly is blessed to have two amazing children, Katherine and
Alexander. It is the blending of these two names that
she created her brand, K. A. Mace Jewelry. She
hopes that this leaves a legacy for her children to love the
arts, be creative, follow their dreams, and realize that
anything is possible! She also has the love of her
life, Brian, supporting her in every step that she takes.
